Articulation on the Piano

In order for the notes to be heard clearly and at the same volume, you need to strike the keys with the same strength – i.e. articulate the same with each finger. By now you will have realized that with some fingers you cannot strike the keys as strongly as with others. Proper articulation means above all lifting your fingers markedly from the keys, moving them independently, and playing more accurately – in short, playing more musically. This course offers you a sample video demonstrating in full detail the lesson’s hand and finger movements, three technical exercises with their corresponding recordings, as well as seven licks you can play along to backing tracks.
