Funk Basslines

This assortment of funk basslines is inspired by some of the greatest players, namely James Brown, Prince, Sly & the Family Stone, The Meters, and many more. As the funk bass primarily focuses on the rhythm, these basslines are first and foremost intended to animate! There are only a few notes to be played but you can only create the groove if you perfectly synchronize them with the drums. You will notice that the employment of minor sevenths and octaves is crucial. This course provides ten complete funk basslines with their corresponding recordings and just as many “made-to-measure” backing tracks which you can use to play along to – as though you actually were in a band!
