Funk Grooves

This assortment of funk drum grooves is inspired by some of the greatest players, namely James Brown, Prince, Sly & the Family Stone, The Meters, and many more. You will play these grooves either with a straight or a shuffle feel; you will set hi-hat accents and pointedly play the open hi-hat in order to accompany the highly syncopated play style of the bass and snare drum; moreover, to drive everything forward, you will perform ghost notes galore. This course places ten funk drum grooves and the appropriate breaks with their corresponding recordings at your disposal along with just as many “made-to-measure” backing tracks that you can use to play along to – as though you were in a band!
