Drum breaks, also often referred to as “fills”, are aimed at joining two adjacent segments. This fairly short break, comprising two beats, often marks a rather rapid transition between two themes. In dealing with a binary pulse, you will generally maintain a binary feel in the break, too. This way you will avoid discontinuity. This course provides a video demonstration example, four technical exercises with their corresponding recordings, as well as six drum grooves you can play along to backing tracks.
