Playing Single Flams
DRUMS, Multimedia tutorials, Techniques, How 2 Play Drums
Flams consist of two strokes: the first stroke – the grace note – is a small, light stroke sounding just before the stronger main stroke. The impact of the two strokes should be heard nearly simultaneously. This snare drum rudiment, which calls for alternate sticking, gives you the opportunity to decorate your drum grooves and especially your breaks with numerous ornaments. This course provides a video demonstration example, four technical exercises with their corresponding recordings, as well as six drum grooves you can play along to backing tracks.
