Swing Jazz Basslines

In this assortment of swing jazz basslines, the bass assumes a supporting role; it plays walking basses which mainly consist of quarter notes. Eighth notes and the rhythmic figure “dotted 4th – 8th” can lend a special touch – provided you use them sparingly. The bass can also follow the guitar, for instance when the latter carries out a walking bass or certain rhythmic chord sequences. As for harmony, the chord and passage notes are perfectly sufficient for sounding unquestionably jazzy. This course provides ten complete swing jazz basslines with their corresponding recordings and just as many “made-to-measure” backing tracks which you can use to play along to – as though you actually were in a band!
